Kira & Roxy
Kira was looking for a true girl's dog. Roxy was found as a stray and brought to Pottawattamie County Animal Control. We couldn't resist her giant ears and sweet personality. The two were matched on February 28th, 2014.
"Heads Up Hounds is one of those rare organizations who shook up the industry with their visionary methods. It was unheard of before Heads Up Hounds to train a rescue AND train that dog in 1/6th the time of the industry standard of 18 to 24 months. What also sets them apart from their competitors is their focus on the human/canine connection. They match dog to handler with uncanny accuracy. Their support does not end with the hand off. Our DAD Roxy was for our teenager and we had never had a dog live with us before. Our teenager has a relationship with Heads Up Hounds that is separate from ours. She needed to be able to find her own way with her relationship with DAD Roxy and Joe and Jamie have patiently given her the support she needed to feel confident in her abilities. DAD Roxy gives our daughter piece of mind that nothing else can. My husband and I have started getting some sleep for the first time in 14 years. I knew immediately that Heads Up Hounds was the organization we would choose. Their values and passion for rescues matched my own. They have shown themselves over and over to be an ethical organization whose bottom line is to serve their clients." - Mary, Kira's mom
